This is a list of musical recommendations I published on my Tumblr in June 2025, focusing specificically on LGBT+ artists. I thought it was worth sharing on here as well.

In the spirit of the season, I should probably make a list of great LGBT artists I listen to and would recommend, in no particular order:

Polythene Pam: Fantastic Folk Punk, about as DIY as it gets.

She/Her/Hers: Also Folk Punk, but angrier. 'Nvr Pass' was my first introduction to her, specifically the live version available on Shout Back's youtube channel.

G.L.O.S.S: Not every artist here can be a deep cut. I'm willing to bet most of them aren't, but still, just in case you haven't listened to their fantastic 'Trans Day Of Revenge' EP, go and do so now. A gem of Hardcore Punk.

Victory Over the Sun: How do I even categorise this album. Microtonal Atmospheric Black Metal? Sure, let's go with that. Anyway, it fucks. Go listen.

Seria Viri: Cold Wave, both 'Funeral' and its follow-up, 'Funeral Pt II' are as harsh, raw and introspective as it gets. A must-listen.

Seth Corbin: I've said it before, and carved it onto the subway walls like a frenzied prophet, I consider Seth Corbin to be an outstanding lyricist, perhaps one of the best contemporary ones. Just good Folk Punk, the album I linked is a no-skip in my book.

Holly Victoria Hayes: When I tell you that 'Portraits of Lola, & other fun stories' is an album that fundamentally changed my outlook on what it means to make music and that I have been trying, and failing, to create anything that compares to it throughout my entire career. I have no words, it's just one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime and I cannot imagine a world without this album.

Rosie Borden: Another very unique album, I cannot do it justice by succintly describing it, it is just incredibly rich like that. Go listen pls.

SuperKnova: Probably the most accessible album and artist on here. For great reasons. She's a fantastic artist, and 'superuniverse' deserves to be a Pop classic.

Princess Xixi: She's just good. Undeniably so. Once more with feeling, go listen pls.

Vylet Pony: Hyperpop, I guess? Music taxonomy is not my forte. Anyway, if you want to blow out your ear drums and feel your heart rate elevate to match the energy of the music, Vylet Pony shoud be your go-to.

Of course I can't exactly forego the classics, so here they are

Laura Jane Grace: Transgender Dysphoria Blues, Shape Shift with Me, Reinventing Axl Rose, they're obviously all classics. I have a particular soft spot for her solo work, particularly Stay Alive, so that's the album I'm recommending.

Queen Bee: Avu-chan's vocal prowess speaks for itself. High-strung Hard Rock, and their singing definitely does a lot of heavy lifting for that energy to be maintained throughout the album.

Hikaru Utada: While I will keep my thoughts on the final film of the Evangelion Rebuilds, the accompanying EP is absolutely lovely. Cool little detail, they include the often ignored first verse of 'Fly Me To The Moon', so you know, nice.
